A heritage church reimagined as a home, with two new wings extending the original building.
This residential renovation and addition transforms an old church into a contemporary home. The original church now holds the kitchen, living, and dining — the heart of the home. We retained the original timber ceiling here, creating a grand, open space that makes the most of the building's existing scale and character.
From there, the home moves through to the first new wing, containing the master bedroom, ensuite and walk-in robe, a sunroom, laundry, and garage. A second wing adds guest bedrooms, a bathroom, and a terrace, giving the home room to grow and space for visitors.
Beautiful hardwood runs throughout the new parts of the home, tying the additions back to the original building and bringing old and new together. Both wings were designed to complement the church rather than compete with it — retaining its heritage character while delivering the comfort, flow, and function of a contemporary home.
